    The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar is currently inviting applications for its prestigious Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF) program for the academic session starting in July 2024. This fellowship offers a unique opportunity for medical professionals to enhance their expertise in various specialized fields.     Eligibility Criteria and Application Process

    General Eligibility Requirements

    Candidates must meet the specific eligibility criteria outlined for each fellowship program. Those currently employed in the government sector are required to notify their employers and obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to be submitted at the time of the personal interview. It is crucial to note that late or incomplete applications will not be considered under any circumstances.

    Fellowship Specializations and Required Qualifications

    The fellowship program offers positions in the following specializations, along with the required qualifications:

    • Anaesthesiology:
    • Critical Care Medicine: MD/MS/DNB in relevant specialties (3 posts)
    • Paediatric Anaesthesia: MD/DNB in Anaesthesiology (2 posts)
    • General Surgery:
    • Minimal Access Surgery: MS/DNB in General Surgery or related fields (1 post)
    • Hospital Administration:
    • Health Care Quality & Patient Safety: MBBS + MHA or MD in Hospital Administration (1 post)
    • Obstetrics & Gynaecology:
    • Minimal Invasive Gynaecological Surgery: MD/MS/DNB with one year of Senior Residency (1 post)
    • High-Risk Pregnancy & Perinatology: MS/MS/DNB with one year of Senior Residency (1 post)
    • Trauma and Emergency:
    • Neuro-Trauma: MCh/DNB in Neurosurgery (1 post)
    • Trauma Anaesthesia & Acute Care: MD/DNB (Anaesthesia) (2 posts)
    • Medical Oncology/Haematology:
    • Clinical Haematology: MD in relevant specialties (1 post)
    • Community Medicine:
    • Public Health Nutrition: MD in Community Medicine, MPH, or a relevant doctoral degree (1 post, with special provisions for sponsored candidates)

    Age Limit

    Candidates should be no older than 45 years as of the application deadline.

    Emoluments and Benefits

    Selected fellows will receive a stipend of Rs. 67,700 per month, as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), Level-11 of the Pay Matrix. Additionally, Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) and other allowances will be provided. However, sponsored candidates in the Community Medicine department will not receive any emoluments.

    Leave and Internal Assessment

    Fellows are entitled to 24 days of leave during the one-year tenure. Internal assessments will be conducted every six months or as decided by AIIMS Bhubaneswar.


    Application Procedure

    Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online through Google Forms, as specified on the AIIMS Bhubaneswar website. The application must include scanned copies of the following documents:

    1. MBBS degree certificate
    2. Internship Completion Certificate
    3. Qualifying degree (MBBS/BDS/MD/MS/MDS/DNB)
    4. Medical Registration Certificate
    5. Date of Birth Certificate
    6. Caste Certificate (if applicable)
    7. Application fee payment receipt (except for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates)
    8. Other relevant certificates

    Selection Process

    Candidates may apply for up to three different departments but must submit separate applications and fees for each post. If the number of applicants exceeds three times the number of available posts, a written examination will be conducted. Otherwise, the selection process will solely consist of a personal interview.

    The final merit list will be based on combined marks from the written test (if applicable) and the personal interview. Vacancies arising from non-joining or resignation will be filled from the waiting list. Additional preference of up to 5 marks may be granted for candidates with prior research or clinical experience in relevant fields.
